A millionaire found a little girl asking for food. Her story made him start asking questions. What he discovered changed everything.

“Because I have two young children and a large mortgage to pay,” Maria admitted sadly. “I saw how quickly and ruthlessly they destroyed Joanne in less than a week.”

Samuel later recovered an old digital copy of the incoming mail logbook showing Joanne’s name, the original date, and the primary recipient as Mason Vance. The letter had existed, and it had been stolen before reaching his hands.

At ten at night, Lawrence appeared in person in front of the physical archive room attempting to pull documents specifically from the month Joanne was fired.

Mason confronted him directly in the dimly lit hallway. “Tomorrow morning at eight sharp, I want you, Brandon, and Laura in the main boardroom.”

Lawrence smiled calmly, though his eyes showed clear tension. “Before you make wild accusations, you should know who Joanne Parker really was.”

“What are you trying to imply?” Mason questioned coldly.

“Tomorrow I will show you internal documents that prove her character,” Lawrence replied smoothly.

At that exact moment, the security chief looked down at his tablet screen and turned pale. While Lawrence was standing in the hallway talking to them, someone logged into the system and ordered a mass deletion of old administrative files using Laura’s computer credentials, even though Laura had left the building twenty minutes earlier.

PART 3

At seven fifty-eight the next morning, Lawrence Bennett was already sitting at the head of the boardroom table with a thick gray folder. Brandon Cole arrived five minutes later, followed by a visibly terrified Laura Stone. Mason entered the room alongside Samuel Drake and security chief Frank Ross.

Lawrence casually pushed the gray folder across the table toward the hotel owner. “Here is the full truth about Joanne Parker, including official reports, internal logs, and missing inventory records. Before you turn her into a victim, you should remember she was thoroughly investigated.”

Mason did not even bother to open the folder. Instead, he placed two conflicting versions of the exact same monthly inventory report on the table. “Explain to me why an alleged loss of three hundred thousand pesos suddenly doubled to six hundred thousand pesos three days later.”

“Routine accounting adjustments were made after a full count,” Lawrence answered smoothly.

Samuel intervened immediately. “Multiple luxury products were added to that loss statement that never actually entered the hotel warehouse according to receiving logs.”

Mason then displayed several enlarged photographs taken directly from Joanne’s phone on the main display screen. “Yesterday you claimed that the low-grade dairy arrived due to a late-night emergency, but here is the exact same cheap packaging documented seven months ago.”

Brandon swallowed hard as his face flushed red. “I don’t manage the corporate purchasing contracts.”

“But you personally signed every single monthly requisition form,” Mason pointed out sternly.

Laura crossed her arms tightly. “Some external suppliers have been replacing high-grade merchandise without our knowledge.”

Samuel projected a complex financial spreadsheet onto the board wall. “For three solid years, this hotel paid premium prices for luxury meats, cheeses, and seafood while receiving budget brands. Furthermore, every single payment was split into smaller sums to deliberately bypass corporate audit triggers.”

Lawrence attempted to downplay the numbers. “That is simply standard operational flexibility for a business of this size.”

Frank turned on a secondary surveillance monitor showing Laura leaving the building the previous night, followed by footage of Lawrence entering his private office shortly after. It was during that window that the permanent deletion command was sent directly from Laura’s terminal.

Laura spun around to face Lawrence in total shock. “Did you use my computer terminal last night?”

“You must have left your personal account session unlocked,” Lawrence dismissed her coldly.

“I always lock my station before leaving,” Laura yelled back frantically.

“Our off-site backups are fully protected,” Frank stated calmly. “Digital forensics will identify the exact user.”

For the first time since the investigation began, Lawrence lost his calm composure entirely.

Mason then called Maria Santos into the boardroom. The manager recounted how Joanne logged her letter, only for the envelope to appear on Lawrence’s desk an hour later.

“You told her that you decide what Mr. Vance needs to read,” Maria testified clearly.

“She is completely lying to protect her own job,” Lawrence snapped defensively.

Mason laid down a printed record from the legacy physical mail system. “The letter existed, it was addressed directly to me, and you intercepted it.”

He then revealed an internal administrative memo signed by Brandon dated the day before the letter was delivered, explicitly requesting Joanne’s immediate termination. “You were already planning her firing before the alleged inventory shortage ever occurred.”
