I didn’t argue about Christmas plans. I simply took a trip of my own. Then my phone started ringing.

I typed in “Christmas trips for seniors” just to see what would come up. Dozens of photos appeared: bright lights, Christmas markets, smiling travelers wrapped in scarves.

There was one trip in particular that caught my eye: a Christmas tour of Europe—Germany, Austria, and Switzerland. It left in three days. My heart started racing. It was crazy, completely out of character. But something inside me whispered, “Do it.”
