After Eight Years Apart, My Ex-Husband Invited Me to His Family’s Christmas Dinner. He Assumed I Would Still Be Alone.

He had no idea what was waiting for him.

PART 2

Christmas Day arrived with a thick snowstorm covering the entire region. The Holloway estate in Sun Valley was draped in thousands of glowing white lights, with expensive cars parked along the winding driveway. Relatives were chatting inside the grand living room while private caterers prepared a massive feast.

Tristan was standing near the front door beside his fiancée, looking handsome, confident, and completely at ease. His bright smile vanished the moment I walked up the porch steps.

I stepped into the warm entryway, and Mason walked in right behind me. Then came Caleb, followed closely by Asher and Liam. Four eight-year-old boys stood in a neat line wearing matching blue winter coats.

Nobody in the hallway made a sound for several long seconds. Tristan stared at the boys, then at me, and then back at the four identical faces looking up at him. His hand trembled so much that his wineglass nearly slipped from his fingers. His face drained of all color.

Behind him, his mother stepped out of the dining room and froze in her tracks.

“Grace,” Tristan whispered, his voice completely hollow.

I stood there in silence, allowing the truth to settle over the room.

The boys shared his dark hair, his jawline, and his bright blue eyes. They looked like four miniature versions of the man standing before them.

Sabrina looked at Tristan with a confused expression and asked, “Who are these children?”

“You already know who they are,” I said calmly to Tristan.

Tristan swallowed hard and managed to ask, “Are these my sons?”

Mason took a step forward and said, “My name is Mason.”

“I am Caleb,” the second boy announced with a nod.

Asher raised his hand slightly and said, “I am Asher.”

“And I am Liam,” the youngest added with a small smile.

Tristan looked as if he had been struck by lightning. His mother, Evelyn Holloway, covered her mouth with both hands as tears began streaming down her face.

“You have four grandchildren?” Evelyn asked, her voice shaking violently.

“They have been here for eight years,” I replied gently.

Evelyn turned to her son with a furious look and asked, “Did you know about this?”

“No!” Tristan stammered, shaking his head frantically. “I had no idea!”

He turned to me and said, “You never told me you actually had them!”

“I told you I was pregnant before you left,” I reminded him firmly. “You chose to call me a liar.”

“I did not believe it was real,” he muttered, looking down at the floor.

“You never came back to check,” I added quietly.

The entire hallway fell completely silent. There was no shouting match or dramatic scene, just the overwhelming weight of eight lost years crushing the room.

Tristan immediately requested a DNA test to confirm the truth. I agreed without hesitation because I wanted my boys to have absolute certainty and because his family deserved the facts. When the medical results arrived a short time later, they confirmed what everyone in the room already knew.

The caterers brought four extra chairs to the long dining table, and the evening shifted entirely. Evelyn could not take her eyes off the boys, constantly offering them sweets and asking about their lives. His father, George Holloway, sat next to Caleb and asked endless questions about their school projects. Sabrina remained quiet for most of the night, watching Tristan struggle to process everything. Tristan barely touched his dinner, keeping his eyes fixed on the four sons he had ignored for nearly a decade.
