My Sister Mocked Me for Raising My Kids Alone… Then She Expected Me to Watch Her Four Children While She Went to Vegas.

“Why should we watch your children?” my sister, Rachel, snapped over the phone. “You decided to become a single mom.”

I stood motionless in the hospital parking lot, still clutching the diaper bag in one hand and my interview folder in the other.
“My interview starts in forty minutes,” I replied softly. “I’m only asking for three hours.”

Rachel chuckled.

“That sounds like your issue.”

Then the call ended.

I remained there staring at my phone while my six-year-old twins tugged at my sleeves, asking whether Aunt Rachel was coming.

She wasn’t.

I lost the interview opportunity.

That night, after tucking the kids into bed, I scrolled through old photos and text messages.

Weekend after weekend.

Birthday celebrations.

Beach vacations.

Concert nights.

Girls’ getaways.

Vegas.

Wine-tasting trips.

Rachel smiling in every photo while I remained home caring for her four children.

For two entire years.

Every Friday evening she arrived with backpacks, snacks, and a quick, “You’re the best!”

Every Sunday night she returned to collect them.

Not once did she offer any money.

Not once did she even ask whether I already had plans.

And every single time…

I agreed.

Until today.

Without saying another word, I blocked her number.

Blocked her across social media.

Changed the code for my garage.

Then I hired a locksmith and replaced every outside lock.

I told nobody.

Exactly one week later, my doorbell camera alerted me.
Rachel stood on my porch with four excited children, two oversized suitcases, and matching “Vegas Girls” T-shirts.

She pressed the doorbell three times.

“Open up!” she yelled.

I answered through the camera.

“What do you need?”

She rolled her eyes.

“Seriously? We’re running late. Watch the kids.”

“No.”

She laughed.

“Very funny.”

“I’m serious.”

Her smile v@nished.

Then she reached into her purse and pulled out an old key.

Some people never realize they’ve gone too far until the door they always expected to open suddenly refuses to.
